When my father, Stephen L. Massad Sr, passed away unexpectedly a year ago this month, I took over the leadership of the family business, now in its third generation of family ownership. The company was originally started by my grandfather, Louis F. Massad, out of his home on Amity Street in New London, CT in 1952.
Over the years, the business served both insurance and real estate markets, but now mainly focuses on P&C insurance. You may have known the agency by different names as well as the other agencies in the family network like Amity Insurance Inc. in Old Saybrook, CT, Holmes Insurance Group LTD in Uncasville, CT and Stula Insurance Inc. in Colchester, CT.
Over the last year, we have made several changes to the business, including a name change to 'Massad Insurance Agency' and going back to only one location on Colman Street in New London, CT, which has been the flagship location for 30 years. Through all of these changes, we have striven to maintain excellent customer service from the Massad family to yours.
While several of the changes have not been customer facing, this new website is an outward sign of our vitality and focus on serving you better. We now have live quotes for Auto and Home/Condo/Renters insurance with a few clicks and inputs right from our website, 24/7. Coming very soon, we will have a Customer Service portal to manage your policies with us, request changes and look up all of your pertinent insurance documents, also available 24/7.
Additional changes on the way are new exterior signs at our Colman Street office, a new logo, new email addresses from our new domain, www.massadins.com, an online appointment scheduling feature to book in-office appointments with our knowledgeable staff at times that are convenient for you and new and improved email and text/SMS capable communications.
We've enjoyed being Southeastern CT's independent insurance professionals for almost 7 decades and we look forward to serving you for many decades to come!
